THIS IS A PROJECT, IT WILL NEED A SKILLED HAND. This clock is sold as is, and as found.
I have not touched it but just to look it over assess and take photos. I am selling this for a friend.
But personally I think its a great piece, and I think with some effort it will be a jewel in any collection.
VERY rare clock with magnificent highly detailed carvings. RARE AND UNUSUAL : HIGH QUALITY antique Beautiful Black forest wall cuckoo clock with a FULL RELIEF ivy and grape vine themed carving.
IN A BAHNHAUSLE STYLE OR more commonly in English a railroad clock.
This clock is a pretty hefty project. It is missing a lot. the carving is in fair condition,
but has several old repairs. It appears complete though for the most part but for a topper..
The movement is original, but as the photos represent it is in need of some serious help.
The movement IS complete and if actuated by a finger it will tick and it does sequence the strike.
The bellows ARE NOT ORIGINAL.
LARGE 1-day DAY Weight driven 30hr wood plate movement of very good quality.
This will make a wonderful clock for any collection. All cleaned up its going to be a stunning piece.
Its 18\" tall. 16\" wide. and a 6\" dial.
Not a huge clock but surely a nice piece. Appears to be walnut or possibly fruit wood.
I will not date this clock exactly but i make it to be about 1870 to 1880 maybe.. Have a close look at the craftsmanship on this clock. Its a work of art.
Its obvious that this clock is not a run-of-the mill piece.
