This listing is for a large and unusual Chinese porcelain basin. The basin is painted in underglaze blue with a central large ruyi band flanked by a leaf tip border as well as a smaller ruyi band above accented with diapered pattern. The underside marked with a six character mark and stands on a hand cut foot rim. The interior showing extensive pin holes as well as on the base. It measures 11.25 inches (28.5cm) across and is in nice condition with the exception of one very faint line on the rim. This item was recently sold at Doyle\'s New York, Sale # 15AS01, lot #165 and was dated to the Kangxi period. We feel it could be a later example but will let you be the judge from the photos. Also according to Doyle\'s New York, the bowl came out of the collection of Chauncey Peter Lowe.(#5875)
