LARGE DRUNKEN MAN PORCELAIN FIGURINE \"TISCHLER\", c19th CENTURY, BEEHIVE MARK

Available for your consideration is this very difficult to find large porcelain figurine titled \"Tischler\" from a Boston area estate, 19th century.

This figurine depicts an Irish drunken man half sitting on a tree trunk (tisch) titled \"Tischler\". Tischler is derived from the word for table. Translates from German to carpenter or joiner.

Man is holding a stone jug and has a walking stick. Base is decorated with clover flowers and leaves.

Figurine measures approx. 17\" tall with a 8\" x 5\" rectangular base. Weighs 6 3/4 pounds.

Figurine is marked with an impressed \"Beehive\" orshield.

In excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.
