Here is a great vintage portrait bust of Abraham Lincoln in Mid Century Modern Style from the White House Gift Shop by famous economist and sculptor Leo Cherne (1912-1999). Cherne was advisor to 8 presidents and also achieved fame as a sculptor, producing renowned bronze portrait busts of Lincoln, the Kennedys, and many other world leaders during his storied career. The original work from which this museum reproduction is cast was produced in 1955 and is still in the White House. This example is of molded stone resin/plaster composition with painted finish. The stepped black plinth has a couple of minor chips and age associated wear, the bust looks perfect. This sculpture may have been re painted since its manufacture, please inspect photos carefully before offerding. About 16\" tall, and 12 pounds unpacked. No home or library is complete without a portrait bust of The Great Emancipator.
