Goddess of Day shown with incredibly rare symbols, gorgeous is one of the rarest depictions of Aurora, Goddess of Day, that we\'ve ever seen.From a European estate, this antique Victorian cameo is large and gorgeous.Aurora is shown with an elaborate plumed helmet, two torches, which light themorning, a garland of flowers, which she dropped to usher in the day, and the mostrare addition of all, a rooster! Absolutely fabulous. Very detailed and complex carving.She\'s in the half body, with one full arm showing and a portion of the other. Beautiful shellcolors of tea and cream, and the carver, a master to say the least, used the brighter spotsof the shell to create the illusion of dawn breaking around her. Just a terrific level of artistry.Bezel set in original 14K gold frame with double ribbon border and fancy safety.
