GORGEOUS colors of aqua blue, rust brown, and yellow adorn the veined wings which contrast with a pale green body on this marvelous vintage David Andersen of Norway sterling silver vermeil and enamel butterfly. It is the largest size at a hair over 2 3/8\" wide by about 1 1/2\" high. It is also one of the few of Andersen\'s butterflies that has a convex curve to it, making it dimensional. The darkening on the back is shadowing, and not on the brooch itself. The weight is 14.7 grams. Signed \'David Andersen Norway Sterling 925 S.\'
There is no damage whatsoever to the enamel, and the sterling vermeil is intact as well. This is a magnificently colored mid century Scandinavian butterfly. Also, there are no patches of darkening--it is a uniform bright gold tone. Beautiful butterfly in excellent condition!
