LEROY NEIMAN OLYMPIC BOXING - MOSCOW 1980 A.P. SERIGRAPHRare and limited serigraph artist proof by Leroy Neiman published in 1980. The A.P. (artist proof) is also signed in pencil by Neiman. The approximate dimensions of this framed artist proof are 62 7/8” x 41 5/8” and the Artist Proof Itself is 42” x 21”. This A.P. has a run of 50. The framing alone is valued at $2000.
Leroy passed away in June, 2012. Leroy Neiman is one of America’s most popular artists. Neiman is considered the leading chronicler of the 20th-century good life, the Norman Rockwell of the post-War affluence. His famous career began with his reportage of the Munich Olympics and with his illustrations for Playboy and ABC s Wide World of Sports. He was educated at the Art Institute of Chicago. The scene depicts Magic Johnson rejecting Larry Bird while Parish, Kareem, and Mchale look on. Truly one of the best Neiman’s out there. The frame and serigraph are in excellent condition.
