Just had this inspected by a Hopi Native American carver and he feels this kachina was more likely made in late 1800\'s.
\'Vintage Wood Carved KACHINA\'
c.1890\'s primitive form; very large 14\" tall Hopi kachina.
This old piece came from a private collection in Santa Fe. The collector had well over 100 kachinas and this was the oldest in his collection.
This piece is a nicely painted, vintage rare figure form Hopi Kachina wooden carving. This is a dramatic huge piece standing 14\" tall. Made of cottonwood from the cottonwood tree.
The string around the neck was used to hang on the wall. A vintage piece that would be a great addition to any collection. Faded colors but in, excellent overall condition for age!
