HUGE EARLY COLONIAL ANTIQUE PEWTER CHARGER/TRENCHER, 15\" Diameter, 47\" CIRCUMFERENCE, c.1760, w/MANUFACTURER\'S MARKS !!

DESCRIPTION:Scans show it all.....particularly heavy pewter charger/trencher, 15\" diameter, a whopping 47\' circumference. Trenchers were used as serving plates or platters for the family. Very deep area for food.

Can be used as a functional itemor as a great antique or original colonial period decorative item. This is a particularly earlycolonial piece, and I would estimate it was made no later than 1760-70. Very thick and heavy. THIS IS A PARTICULARLY NICE, PARTICULARLY LARGE TRENCHER.

THIS IS ALSO PARTICULARLY SCARCE AS IT HAS THE MANUFACTURER\'S MARKS ON THE BACK. I TRIED TO CAPTURE IN THE SCANS, BUT THEY ARE FAINT. Marked trenchers are very uncommon.

It is in very good conditionoverall with nice aged patina and shows its age and use well. This was from alocal New England estate collection and has been part of my pewter collection.
