Wonderful GeorgeV Hallmarked Solid Sterling Silver & Pique Work Faux Tortoiseshell Box or Pot
Description -Fineearly 20th century GeorgeV solid silver box of circular form with a tortoiseshell pull off lid, the has beautifuldelicatesolid silver floral pique work with a central vacant circular lid inlaid into a good example piece of tortoiseshell, box has plain sides and base, the interior is silver-gilt (Gold washed).
The box is fully hallmarked with the leopard\'s head for London assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver and the date letter \"r\" for the year 1912 and the makers mark (rubbed and unidentifiable).
Condition -The box is in very good condition, there are no dents, dinks, dints, splits, holes or repairs, the pique work and tortoiseshell are in excellent undamaged condition and the lid fits onto the box nice and securely, to note there is some slight push in to one side of the lid, the interior silver gilt is in very good order with a nice bright sheen.
Dimensions & Weight -The box is 6.3cm in diameter x 3cm high, the gross weight is 39grams.
