Description A lovely decorative English antique 18th Century Georgiansolid sterling silver cream jug probably by the silversmith John Whittingham - (1788-1799) andwith full English silver hallmarks for London 1796. Excellent qualitygenuine221 year old sterling silver example, decorated with beautiful period prick/wriggle-work engraving and has an attractive high scrolled reeded silver handle. Good heavy silver weight approx104 grams.Small period engraved monogram in the cartouche.

MeasurementsMeasures approx. 4.45 inches (112mm) in height, (including handle), x 4.1 inches (103mm) wide and is 2.5 inches (63mm) in height.

Date English antique 18th Century Georgian solid sterling silver,with a full set ofEnglish silver hallmarks for London 1796, (date letter \"A\"), date letter rubbed, but is just readable. Includes the \"crowned\" leopards head stamp of the London assay office, the lion passant silver stamp and also the Kings head duty mark of King George the Third.

MakerSilversmiths initials \"I.-\", (Most probably John Whittingham - 1788-1799).

ConditionLovely condition and ready to be used.
