Description A superb large early pair ofantique 18th Century castsolid sterling silversugar tongs by the silversmith Orlando Jackson 1759-1775, and dating from around 1760. Decorated with lovely pierced work and periodengraving and with attractive shell bowls. Excellent quality genuine 250 year old examples, handsome large size and with a nice set of marriage initials in triangular formation in the cartouche.

ConditionGood usable condition withno nasty knocks or dents. Old repair within the pierced work as is usually the case on these early cast pierced tongs, (nothing at all bad, see last photo).All tight and secure and with no active splits or breaks. Has a fine early set of marriage initials in the cartouche. Very nice quality and a goodheavy weight.
