Description A lovely English antiquesolid sterling silver& faux tortoiseshelltable box by the silversmiths Corke & Apthorpand with full English silver hallmarks for London 1918. Good quality genuine100 year old sterling silver box, with its original tight fitting silver pull-off lid which has a beautiful insetfaux tortoiseshell top, decorated with fine inlaid silver pique work. Inside it is still gilt-lined. No engraved monograms, has had something small erased from the side at one time and is no longer readable.

MeasurementsMeasures approx. 2.2 inches (54mm) in diameter and is 0.95 inches (23mm) in height.

Date English antique solid sterling silver,with a full set ofEnglish silver hallmarks for London 1918, (date letter \"c\"). No visible hallmarks on the box but clear silver marks on the lid.

Maker Silversmiths initials \"C & A\", (Corke & Apthorp).

ConditionGood condition, no splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs, definitely no wear holes and no nasty knocks or dents,just little age-related surface dents/bruisesfrom use, nothing at all bad.The silver pull-off lid is definitely original and the perfect tight fit and most importantly the faux tortoiseshell top is undamaged withnosplits or hairlines. Has a great colour and there is no loss or damage to the inlaid silver pique-work. The interior gilding is original and mostly all still intact.
