‘Britanniaunique’

This is a lovely solid silver medallion designed inFrance circa 1890 by the famous sculptor and engraver Frédéric-Charles Victorde Vernon (17 November 1858, in Paris– 28 October 1911). The fine silverwork isof the highest standard, very good condition commensurate with age, just acouple of slight dents at the rim. It is marked ‘Wild Boar Head’ for the silverstandard and lozenge with the silversmith’s initials at the hanging loop. Itmeasures 2” total length with loops and almost 1 ½” in diameter, it weighs 16.8grams.
