Wonderful Continental Solid Silver Pill/Tobacco Box c1950
Description - Lovely good gauge solid silver pill/Tobacco box of square form with hinged lid, thumb piece and in inner button catch, the box has splendid embossed sides decorated with floral swags and bows and with leaf corners, the lid has further embossed decoration leading up to a nice set malachite stone, the interior has a nice rich silver-gilt (Gold washed), the inner rim of the bx has two pictorial hallmarks and \"800\" stamped which indicates 800 or higher grade solid silver
Condition -The box isin very good condition, there are no dents, dinks, dints, splits, holes or repairs, the embossed decoration has no wear or rubbing, the hinge is in excellent working order with no looseness which shuts the lid nice and tightly and the interior silver-gilt is nice and bright with just a few spots of staining around the bottom edge.
Dimensions & Weight -The box is 5.3cm x 5.3cm x 3.5cm high, the gross weight is 39.6 grams.
