Up for sale is a Very Fine 1773 Georgian London Sterling SilverPaw Footed Salver Serving Tray. The Salver has a nice period design, and is a fine untouched example that has not been later decorated which is a nice find. The Salver has a fine Georgian raised up pie crustouter rim design, which is reinforced with thick silver making the salver very strong and durable for practical use. The Salver also hasthree finelymade pawfeet.The Salver also features a great Period Armorial of a Swan and the wording Sine Macula (Without Blemish).The Salver is a fine and early 241 year old example which is clearly hallmarked for London Sterling Silver the year 1773 and the makers mark “E.C”, for the period Lady silversmith Elizabeth Cooke.Less than 1% of silversmiths of the period were female. Not only that but the salver is of amazing quality throughout, I guess a lady silversmith of the period had to keep her standards very high to compete with all the men andI believe making the Salver that much more of a desirable find. The Salver is in very fine original condition for its age with no dints, cracks, or repairs. The Salver has a quality weight of720grams. The Salver is a nice large size for a multitude of usesmeasuring11inches wide or9-1/2 inches wide across the actual serving area, and sits 1-1/2inch tall. You do not see very many Salvers of this fine quality and age come up for sale, mostly with s!
