Large Late 1950s - Early 1960s Bolo Tie;Rare Zuni Channel Inlay Hopi Bird

This is a very well-made, large, rare,Zuni (New Mexico) channel inlay Hopi Bird bolo tie. The choice of shells is quite lovely,such asthe use of natural brown shell. Although the tie is unsigned (which was quite common in the 1950s -1960s), the inlay is beautifully done. I have not been able to identify the artist. This \"Hopi bird\" tieis quite unusual and rare (see, for example, especially the tail), and I\'ve never seen another one like it.

The tie is large:3-1/4\" tall by 2-1/2\" wide.Theearliest form of the marked C31Bennett clasp on the back indicates that it was produced in the late 1950s through the early 1960s.The matching, sterling, small \"Hopi bird\" inlayed tips nicely complement the tieand are each nearly 3\" long. The four-ply black leather strap appears to be the original one and, although itdoes showsome wear, is still quite wearable.
