Here is a delightful and seldom found, original, \"Life Size Doll, Merrie Marie\", produced by the successors to the Art Fabric Mills Co., copyright Feb. 13, 1900 as shown and described on page 27, \"Playthings by the Yard\"-Whitton. Sweet, \"Merrie Marie\" has lovely, big blue printed eyes, eyelashes, lovely lips, curly blonde hair with blue ribbon bows, nice finger details and wears her adorable, printed onesie underwear with eyelet and blue ribbon trim as well as a matching ribbon belt, (signed) high-button gold booties and white socks with blue bands. Originally advertised as being able to wear real baby and toddler clothing, she was one of Art Fabric Mills popular line of \"cut and sew\" dolls that were sold in yard goods department stores for assembly at home. When the company was sold their successors continued the line for a short time. The cloth stuffed dolls were often the favorite childhood companions of many little girls and this sweet doll is certainly no exception. She is in overall very good condition with some age related darkening and will probably benefit from a light cleaning to brighten her color. She would look great also wearing a cotton baby dress and included with a collection of bisque dolls and teddy bears. The original, uncut mounted version of this doll in the background is not included. Other dolls shown are also not included and listed separately.
