HUGE 16\" ADAMS MOON & STAR COVERED COMPOTE
Up for sale is agigantic Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) covered compote made by Adams & Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvaniacirca 1888. The pattern was originally called \"Palace\" by the manufacturer but was later nicknamed \"Moon & Star\" by collectors. The pattern was very popular and made in a variety of shapes. It was extensively reproduced by several other glass companies beginning in the 1930\'s through the present.This particular piece is an original Adams & Company compote. It\'s a huge and very heavy piece, the largest size compote that Adams made. It stands about 16\" tall to the top of the lid finial (10 7/8\" tall with lid removed) and measures approximately 10\" in diameter. It\'s almost big enough to use as a small punch bowl!This large sized compote is hard to find, especially with the lid. I found this one at a recent estate sale.It\'s guaranteed to be an antique Adamscompoteand not areproduction.Please checkmy positive response and offer with confidence from a trusted seller.
Condition of this Adams Moon & Star compote isEXCELLENT. The lid has a few small nicks and rim roughness along the arched edge that rests on the base (see last photo for largest nick). Other than these rimnicks, there arenochips or cracks. The glass has some bubbles, straw marks, and minor mold imperfections that you expect to see in antique glass. Overall, this compote looks fantastic and displays beautifully.Itwouldmake a fine addition to anycollection. Please take a close look at the many photos I\'ve provided and judge condition for yourself.
