ITEM DESCRIPTION
Item Description
Up for your consideration is an antique German black forest hand-carved box, c. 1900. The box is meticulously carved, with a pair of birds on top with a naturalistic base. The rest of the box has carved flori-form designs throughout and a velvet interior. It opens& closes properly, although the key does not appear to work.
Measurements
The box stands 7\" tall, 8 1/2\" wide, the box is 8\" deep.
Condition Report
The box is in very good condition, with some losses to the bird carvings.It appear as is a portion of the tail of the larger bird is missing, and the upper portions to two of the leaves immediately behind the bird\'s head. There may be some other small chips, but nothing that is detectable as the chips have been stained to blend in the rest of the carving. The box is, otherwise, in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, scratches or losses. There is some minor wear to the velvet interior.
