I have here for sale a rare Nettlefolds Patent Lever Lock.We bought this lock nearly 20 years ago to fit on a pair of large oak doors, but circumstances change and we no longer have a use for it.The lock weighs approx. 2540 grams and measures approx. 8 inches by 5 inches. Approx. 1 inch deep.
Made by Charles Aubin, some time between 1830 and 1879, I believe.Its full title being the Nettlefold A1 Patent Guardian Lock.The lock has its original key, which as I hope you can see turn the levers inside to enable or disable the bolt. There is no keeper.
\'Nettlefolds Patent Lever\' is stamped in the brass as shown.The key turns in the mechanism, but at the moment doesn\'t turn fully. As you can see from the photographs, it is dirty inside from dust and treacly grease, so pretty sure all it needs is a good clean to remove the aged lubricant and fresh grease putting in.
