Found in northern France, a lovely large round vintage wood bread board used long, long ago in a French bakery. One side has two wood \"spine\" to keep the board from warping. Boards do not move; very solid. We love these old French bakery boards used as a table centerpiece with a vignette of your vintage glass jars filled with flowers or a textural contrast with delicate china! We have a few resting up against the wall of our kitchen counter top in a grouping. Lovely worn and aged honey patina. Shows expected use and age. Left as found! Circa early to mid-1900s. Board measures 20 inches in diameter not including the 4 inch long handle; 1/2 inch thick. Heavy! These vintage bread/dough boards are becoming very difficult to source from France. Bread boards are very popular with the decorators as seen on the cover of a new book ~ Patina Farm and in a recent issue of Romantic Homes magazine featuring Farmhouse style home decor.
