Found in the region just south of Paris comes this wonderfulpiece of art nouveau craftsmanship. The pitcher has had a bit of a rough life,witnessed by the bottom of the piece, but it is sound and is marked Ges Gesch.24 with a diamond mark with an ostrich, ( relating to one of the founders Daniel Straub) indicating it is an early WMF piece.

The body of the pitcher is hand hammered copper and the handleand ornamentation is brass. The piece is rather beaten up on the bottom,causing one brass band to be slightly loose. This does not interfere withfunction. The piece is displayed here with some sand in the bottom to make itmore stable. I would recommend it for display purposes.

Measurements are: handle to spout 9”, height is 14 ½”.
