\"Revision\" 1981 acrylic and charcoal painting on canvas.A beautifully intricate acrylic on canvas painting, titled \"Bits and Pieces\", by Chicago artist Sandra J. Gierke. Signed lower right \"Gierke\". titled, dated and signed verso. Old exhibition label verso. Framed in a simple artist made black wood frame. Gierke\'s work was exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago alongside Robert Natkin and many other renowned Chicago artists in 1959, 1960 and 1961. In 1959, Gierke won the first place William and Bertha Clausmann prize for her work exhibited at The Art Institute of Chicago. Gierke would later become a member of Artemisia a Chicago Women’s Art Cooperative. Measures approximately 57in wide x 49in tall.
