~ Circa 1830 Doulton and Watts Salt Glazed Lord Nelson Jug ~

A salt glaze jug by Doulton and Watts in the form of Lord Horatio Nelson.

The figure is in full uniform with the top of one of his orders to his chest and a large medallion around his neck. Care has been taken in the details of his uniform including fine cross hatching on the collars and epaulletes. The back stamp is lovely and clear helping to determine its authenticity as a circa 1830 piece as opposed to a later 1870\'s reissue.

The base reads \'Doulton & Watts, Lambeth Pottery, London\',

This stamp marks the period of the \'Doulton & Watts\' partnership between c1820-1854.

~ Dimensions~

The base measures 11.5cm across. The height is 7.75 inches (19.5cm). The piece weighs 1.25kg.

~ Condition ~

The jug is in very good condition. There are a few small firing cracks to the piece concentrated around the twisted handle. There is a small chip to the base. Please see pictures.The piece is otherwise fine.
