Highly collectible vintage signed Clarence Lee, Navajo sterling silver \"Hummingbird\" brooch. Believed to be an early piece, with a hand written signature and without the copyright symbol found on later work. Brooch measures approximately 2\" by 2\" and weighs a total of 10.5 grams. Signed \"Clarence Lee\" along with the artist mark, and \"Sterling\" on the back. Excellent vintage condition with a nice patina.

About the artist: Clarence Lee was born in 1952 and passed away in 2011. He grew up in Twin Lakes, New Mexico where his father owned and ran a trading post. His father, Tom Lee, made jewelry on the side to supplement the family income. Clarence grew up watching his father and started silversmithing professionally in 1970. He is best known for his pictorial/ storyteller jewelry.
