Impressive Japanese Satsuma Covered Box with Figures and DragonsSecond half of the 19th CNicely decorated with male figures with a dragon weaving amongst them. The dragon hasmoriage details as well as the eyes of the figures. This piece is heavily gilded.
Base is marked with Shimazu family crest, artists signature and impressed \"JAPAN\".
Conditions:There is a small chip on the lid located on the rim. There is wear to the gilt and applied decorations primarily around the top edge of the lid.
