Large Silver Gilt Fede Wedding Ring c. 17th - 18th century A.D. Size 12 Not Posy:

This is an excellent antique silver gilt fede ring, dating to the late 17th - 18th century. It has a finely detailed bezel, engraved with a pair of clasped hands. The cuffs decorated with an \'M\' motif. Whilst posy rings were worn as wedding bands in England at this time, fede was the preferred choice in France. This ring being a choice piece from the Louis XIV period. It is in excellent condition, with a wonderful honey yellow gold gilding.
