Large USMC WW2 Grouping W/ Provenance 2nd Marine Div 2nd Amtrac Battalion:
$195.00

Up for sale is a large USMC WW2 grouping belonging to Corporal Edwin W Ramme who served in the second Amtrac Battalion of the Second Marine Division during WW2. He served from 6/43 to 12/45. He missed Tarawa but participated in a number of other island invasions including Saipan, Tinian, and Okinawa and possibly a couple others. These items were given to me straight from Ed and his family who have asked me to sell this for him. I really want to keep the items together and not split them up. The sale consists of the following. Heavy wool overcoat, size 3S, USMC Quartermaster Depot 1944-45. Some moth nips especially on the inside of the back flap, not visible if worn. Includes belt. Coat size 5M 1941-42 manufacture , has a different name stenciled in the sleeve lining (L R Shafer Jr.). Has its EG&As, campaign ribbons, rank and div. patches. A very few moth nips here and there. Mr. Ramme does not recall why a different name is stenciled in the coat but assures me this was his coat. Khaki shirtpoor shape. Has many rust stains. His name is stenciled inside. Pants size 2M. Noted a couple moth holes in the back and front, hat is not to bad, may have ben slightly smashed at one time and shows some wear, Duffle bag has his units markings and name stenciled on it. Intact but rough. He used it for carrying sports equipment after the war. USMC bath towel by Dundee. Front looks great but back side has some stains like car polish. 2nd Division unit history. Rough, loose pages and underlined with notes. Period picture of the Second Amtrac Battalion in formation on Saipan Fall 1944. Original copy of his discharge, USMC Handbook with a page of notes on USMC stationary, Christmas program from the USS Langley 1943, assorted reunion and association patches and buttons, USMC Divine Services Book, two bracelets made from aircraft aluminum, one etched Saipan 1944, recent brief history of the Second Amtrac Battalion, a copy of a short hand written history by the Vet of his war time experiences, No medals or dogtags as the family is keeping them. Please ask for any more info or pictures if you need them as I truly want you to be happy with your purchase. I will try to use the smallest box possible but will put the hat and smaller items in their own box inside for protection. California residents will have sales tax added to the total. Thanks for looking.
