Up for sale a fantastic, good quality and stylish late 19th century silverplate 3 piece bachelor\'s tea set or tete-a-tete set by the renown maker Gorham marked with a lion head date mark for 1891. All the pieces have a drum shape with fluting half way up the body with beading at the bottom and top. The teapot has a pineapple finial and ebonized wood handle. It measures 4.75\" high and 7\" from spout to handle. The base diameter is 3.75\". The sugar bowl measures 2.5\" tall and the opening diameter is also 2.5\". The creamer measures just shy of 2.5\" tall and the base diameter is 2.75\". All three pieces are monogrammed GRW in a scrolling design which contrasts nicely with the very linear nature of the tea set design. All 3 pieces are clearly marked on the base. See photos. Good condition with normal signs of age and use. Slight, minute wear on side of teapot to the right of the monogram. Slight. small, dimple on creamer.
