This vintage figurine, fashioned after L.L. Rittgers designed chalkware baseball players, measures 6 1/2\" tall. It is ceramic, NOT chalkware. At first I thought this was a pitcher, but the mitt is more a catcher\'s or fielder\'s. The piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or other damage. There is a some crazing to the uniform. There are a few minor spots pictured: Some missing glaze on the cap, some white spots on his hand, and a couple very tiny black specks in the glaze on his shoulder (as manufactured). There is some red nail polish or paint on one foot. He does not balance on that foot, so not sure why it is there. There is a 1 and a 0 incised into the other foot. If there is another number, it is not discernible. The uniform is a shiny glaze and the skin areas are matte.
