Item Description:

This is an authentic and signed original Patty Fawn cast sterling silver killer whale ring with inlaid abalone shell. One of the largest and most important pieces of her career, this ring is cast from a mold created from one of her original carvings from ivory or wood.

The killer whales are considered a particular symbol of power and strength, and catching sight of one is considered a momentous omen

A member of the talented Lelooska family and daughter of Shona-Hah, Patty Fawn began carving small wood sculptures, dolls and relief carvings. Later her work evolved into jewelry. Using bone, antler, ivory, silver and gold she creates Northwest Coast Indian symbols and figures, some contemporary and some mythological.

This lovely ring is approx. 2” long by 1” wide and is solid, not hollowware and weighs 79.8 grams.
