The original Lenox-Hunt globe is held in a private collection, and this isone of only 3 replicas made!
It is a full size replica (4.4 inches) made by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) and is plated in 23k gold (my estimate is a few ounces of gold - you can do the math). The globe sits (not fixed) on a clear acrylic base. It has been boxed in its original packaging since it was crafted in 1997 (almost 17 years).
