There for the longest time I simply couldn\'t find any of these great old oversized inkwells at a reasonable price but have had the good luck to find several superb pieces lately. This week, I have the pleasure to offer two! Each thick and heavy crystal, one with a faceted wheel cut base & top canted edges and the other with the entire body cut to resemble an ice cube or block! Both with bubble style reservoir and sterling silver cap & collar. Often referred to as paper weight inkwells, these heavy treasures are fabulous decorative accents and getting harder and harder to find at a reasonable price. The rim and inside of the sterling top bear English hallmarks for the Birmingham maker Sanders & Hill (Warstone Lane). The firm was established in Birmingham in 1907 and ceased shortly thereafter. The date mark is for 1910 so it\'s just over 100 years old though you wouldn\'t guess it from the condition. A treasure, don\'t miss it! Very good condition. One tiny nip to the vertical beveled edge on the rear right side. This one even has the original inner glass ink pot, removable for cleaning. There is a portion of the rim on the inner pot that has been chipped or broken off though. No other chips, cracks or damage to note. The sterling collar & lid are both in pristine shape. Insurance has been eliminated as an option by , forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replacable. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is recieved (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.

8.75% sales tax applicable as of April 1st, 2009 for shipments & sales within the state of California, no exceptions. If you are within CA and are a dealer buying for resale, you must provide us your active resale certificate # and acknowledgment of intent to resell or we will have to collect sales tax.
