Limoges Box - Peint Main - Larger-Size Cylinder w/Floral Medallions, Pink/Gold Accents - So Pretty!

This lovely Limoges box is reminiscent of another era, yet I wouldn\'t label it \"vintage\", simply because I recognize the initials of the artist and he/she is fairly current - within the last 20 years, at any rate. The design is of alternating floral medallions (with pink roses), and a gold and pink wreath-style \"x\" with small blue flowers as accents. This is a wonderful, very ladylike piece, yet it is not insubstantial in size. It measures 1 3/8\" in diameter x 3 1/4\" tall. It opens smoothly, closes with a snap and has my favorite daisy-with-pointy-petals clasp. PLEASE NOTE: the hinge is a little loose, so although the box snaps shut securely, there is play when the top is closed of about 1.5mm. This in no way affects the form or function of the box - when it is on display, you will have no knowledge of the fact that the top is a tiny bit loose. The only time you will know is when you open the box and the top lifts about 1.5mm before the clasp engages. I havea fewpieces like this in my own collection and they are no different to me than any other, but it matters to some collectors and since I don\'t like surprises, I assume you don\'t either and I give as much information as possible about the items I sell. That being said,it is a very petty box and would be a wonderful addition to any collection!
