Here I have up for sale one Lladro \"Ballet Blue\" #1359 . This beautiful porcelain figurine of a young ballerina in blue in a whimsical pose on her lying prone on her stomach with feet up and crossed, perhaps daydreaming about her next performance. She measures approx. 5\" tall and 9 1/2\" long. She was issued in 1978 and retired in 1994. This piece was sculpted by Juan Huerta, handmade in Spain and is in mint condition! The number stamped on the bottom is A-11J. Seriously pristine condition with NO chips, nicks, dings, cracks, or breaks and it comes in it\'s original box.
Lladró was founded in 1953 when Juan, José, and Vicente, three brothers born of local farmers and endowed with great artistic talent, formed a small family company in the Valencian village of Almácera, Spain. Since then, Lladró has undergone an amazing metamorphosis from an artisan workshop to a huge firm of international scope enjoying continual growth. The company management has remained in the hands of the Lladró family, the owners of the firm, since its inception. The creative team started out by adapting styles from past eras, but it was not long before certain characteristics appeared that would soon shape what was to become the unique Lladró style.
