This is a porcelain figure of Eugene De Beauharnais in his royal army uniform which was a beautiful white glaze. An early 20th century German figure produced by Scheibe-Alsbach, which made high class figures in the Meissen style during the 19th & early 20th centuries. The figure stands on a square base, he leans on his sword, t is an incised date of birth to death (1781 - 1824)on the back. Inscription regarding Bertrand is incised on the bottom with the Scheibe-Alsbach Dresden mark. De Beauharnais was a member of the French imperial family, trusted by Napoleon and named large Officer of the Legion of Honour, general of brigade and colonel-general of the hunters of the Guard.
