Old -style, vintage fire hydrant spanner from the Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD). Although still functional, this spanner has been through a lot, due to age and use, as depicted in the photographs. The handle of the spanner is stamped on both sides as follows;
L.A.F.D. DIST. 9
The spanner measures approximately 17\" in length by 4.5\" with the handle. It weighs approximately seven pounds. Unfortunately, the shipping is not cheap. Local pickup is a viable option.
There are no manufacturer\'s markings on the spanner.I\'ve never seen an LAFD spanner in this particular configuration and I\'m not familiar with the term District as abbreviated on the spanner\'s handle.
