Offered is a wonderful pair of general military orders. Each signed by Major (General?) Constantine Chase. Each appears to be sent from the same fort, Fort Baker??? in South Carolina??? 22nd. Each faded, soiled and with such a flowery hand written script, I\'m just stumped. Dates look like they could be 1815 and 1861, I found reference to West point Major Constantine Chase becoming a major in 1900, so I have no idea. Paper seems to be later 1800s. Fragile, some tearing and loss, separations on folds, edge and corner wear, staining. Email if you have more info. Each measures 7 3/4\" x 10\". A nice find.
