Mache snuff boxs dates 18th - early 19th century. Small rectangular, with rear hinge and a tab entension for opening & closure. The underside of the lid has an approx 1/8th\" rim that serves to square the lid nicely inside the base, and originally helped keep the contents inside. They allhave differentdecoration on the center top, with additional precise scroll corners further framed out with exceedingly fine zig-zag lines. The hinge appears to be original, and there is a very small amount of play in it. Additional details follow for this wonderful collector\'s piece - superb for re-enactors, stage & film seekers of authentic period pieces. They come as found, meaning we have not dusted or cleaned this piece.
