Lot Of 10 Different Unique Easter Eggs, Stone, Glass, Pottery, Darning, Vintage For Sale
This is a lot of 10 eggs that I have collected over the years from many, many places to be used in my Easter table centerpiece described as follows:
1. Large, painted white, carved wooden (probably darning) egg. However, since I see no darning needle scratches it could have been placed under hens to induce them to lay eggs. Vintage.
2.&3. A pair of white glass (one opaque) eggs. Again, they are vintage and could have been used for either darning or egg laying purposes.
4.&5. A pair of polished stone of some kind, both with stickers "made in Italy"
6.&7. A pair of glazed ceramic spotted eggs of blue and of ivory with yellow, green and orange spots. Both have dime-sized air holes on bottom which provide a nice rest for them not to roll.
8.,9.&10. Real eggs, hand decorated as follows.
A. Pink with blow hole. Very fragile. (There were a pair but a three year old was not being watched well except for by me in my shop. She was adorable and picked up one of them and just stared in awe at it. Then she squeezed it and of course it crumpled in her hand. She was petrified and started screaming and crying. I tried to keep a serious face but I really wanted to roll around the floor laughing. No I didn't make her pay for it but I did make her give me a kiss. Anyone want to sell their grandchildren to me?)
B. Blue with blow hole. Again very fragile. There is a plastic sticker wrapped around the middle with beautiful flowers on it. It was not completely emptied and sounds like there are peas rattling when shaken. Am glad it is vintage.
C. Multi-colored with gold sparkles. This one they didn't even attempt to empty. It sounds like a rubber ball inside. Again, glad it is vintage!
