Lot of 2 vintage true crime books printed in the early 1900s. Both are first editions in very good condition. They are both pretty scarce.
  • Train, Arthur. TRUE STORIES OF CRIME. Scribner\'s, 1908. First edition (same date on title and copyright pages). Rubbed at extremities, small ink spot near top front (visible in picture). Neat, attractive old private circulating library pastedowns on front and rear endpapers, a few spots of finger soil, binding and hinges sound. Presents thirteen old criminal cases and how they were solved.
  • Child, Richard Washburn. BATTLING THE CRIMINAL. Doubleday, Page, 1925. First edition (stated). Light rubs at extremities, lower corners bumped, gilt on spine is dulled. Contents are clean and unmarked, binding and hinges sound. Chapters titled, variously, \"Our Crime Tide\", Youth and Felony\", \"Crime and our Police\", \"Take This Case\", etc. with case histories given.
