Offered is a rare famous photo postcard image of Albert Einstein taken by Lotte Jacobi who has signed it in the lower right corner (light but readable). Additionally on the reverse of the postcard she has handwritten a long note concerning her Einstein Portfolio of 25 pictures (1927-38) and where it can be purchased, she also has written \"I have selected the more interesting to me for the portfolio.\" This is the image on this postcard that she sent and is being offered. She also has signed the note. Magnicient condition, 10c stamp cancelled. Historically signicant as she has signed her favorite Einstein photographic image.

Lotte Jacobi is best known for her photographic portraits, which act as a \"chronicle of an era.\" The list of her subjects includes W. H. Auden, Martin Buber, Marc Chagall, W. E. B. Du Bois, Albert Einstein, Robert Frost, Käthe Kollwitz, Lotte Lenya, Peter Lorre, Thomas Mann, Max Planck, Eleanor Roosevelt, J.D. Salinger, Alfred Stieglitz, and Chaim Weizmann, to name but a few. Jacobi traveled around from assignment to assignment with her equipment bringing the studio to her models. She liked to wait until the models were most at ease before taking a photograph.
