At the turn of the century, Louis Wain became a household name as ‘The Man Who Drew Cats’. His drawings of cats appeared in periodicals and his own annuals and then, increasingly on prints and postcards. This appears to be a vintage print for it is on yellowed paper, though I am not sure. The paper feels like poster paper, not thick, but it has an antique look, and some white embossing type of stain on bottom where the frame covers this. This was framed, and behind glass, so someone thought enough of it to preserve it. The print measures 8x10. It has no major rips (one tiny edge separation on top). This may be a reproduction of his antique print, though it is old as well, or an original print. It is signed in lower right corner Louis Wain. Will come in frame I found this in, well packed! Any questions, please email. Measures 8x10 inches. The top has a little showing of white, with a yellowing of paper underneath...this might be indicative of old print paper, so this could be an original, though I AM NOT SURE. I added some more photos of print only, removed from glass frame. Can see the bright white back, and yellowed front. The back where edge of top is white compared to yellowed part underneath, the print style of black edges on front, signature and the discoloration on lower front left, which is not noticeable, when framed. The top edges have a few spots where the frame backing holder part indented into the paper, but NO major rips or tears.
