This is a Lovely Federal Style Writing Desk/Chest of Drawers. I believe the wood is walnut. The chest/bureau measures 39\" wide by 18\" deep. The drawers open and close nicely. It measures 35\" tall at the back and 33\" tall at the front area. The writing top area opens down onto green felt which I recently replaced. There is one arm to hold the fold down top area.
