LOVELY QUALITY ANTIQUE ENGLISH 15K GOLD VINAIGRETTE FOB / PENDANT c1850:

An antique English, solid15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) vinaigrette fob / pendant; with finely hand engraved decoration, an applied cartoucheengraved the initials 'OR', and hinging open to reveal an engraved & pierced hinged grille for holding a scented sponge.

A fine quality, very collectable & extremely collectable antique vinaigrette!

CONDITION: All original and very, very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Hinges & closures good. May benefit from a light clean.

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1840/60. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS:Lid 24 x 18mm when closed (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 7.6grams.
