Lovely Renaissance / Tudor Silver Betrothal Ring c. 16th - 17th Century :
$373.01
This is a wonderful Renaissance silver betrothal ring, dating to the 16th - early 17th century. The bezel is engraved with two hearts bound within a lovers knot. The lovers knot was popular motif from the early 16th century, usually depicted between two initials. I have not seen one with a pair of hearts before, especially with the knot formed from two flowers. Originally this ring would have been set with a thin layer ofenamel or niello. The inside bears traces of a makers mark, but it is too worn to be fully identified. The ring is intact and wearable.
