This lovely, good quality, set of six, Victorian; solid silver teaspoons are inthe classic ‘Fiddle Pattern’. There is a monogram to the top of the handle of,I think, JSR in script to the top of the handle.

Exceptfor the usual fine surface marks (all commensurate with age and use) they arein excellent condition for 173 years old, with no dents, damage or repairs thatI can see and have very little wear to the bowl tips.

Theymeasure approx.: 14.3 cm long, with the bowl 4.8 cm x 3 cm (across the widestparts) and have a combined weight of 161.9 grams / 5.2 troy oz.

Thehallmarks are: the lion passant for English sterling silver, the leopard’s headfor the London assay office, the head of Queen Victoria as duty stamp, the dateletter for 1843 and the maker’s mark for John & Henry Lias.
