Up for sale is a wonderful estate find, a Vintage Antique doll of an African American child, with beautiful craftsmanship and lovely detail.It has no date, but I was told it was likely 1940\'s or 1950\'s vintage, possibly earlier. The doll is a half-doll with a fabric body and is made with evident affection and care.The doll and dress are about 22\" long. When spread out the dress skirt makes a 30\" circle. The bonnet and dress are finely pleated and hemmed.
The facial features are hand painted. The hands are fabric with sewn fingers. It has a label on its wooden base with a name and address (Pre-Zip Code), but we do not know if it is the name of the maker or a previous owner.
The doll shows inevitable signs of being well over 50 years old, but it has been well cared for and would sit proudly in anyone\'s display case.
