Beautiful Vintage Hand Painted & Gilded Irish Dresden Lace Trinket / Dresser Box.
A lovely piece of Irish Dresden!This Trinket Box measures approx. 5\" in diameter and stands approx. 4 3/4\" tall. The lid of the box has raised floral handpainted embellishments on 2 sides and the remaining 2 sides are painted with a flat wildflower motif. There are beautiful gold accents in ribbon and swirl shapes on both the lid and the base. The knob in the center of the lid is painted in gold and the same floral design as the raised embellishments. The base is white with the same gold accents.
On the outside of the box both the lid and the base have a delicate pink Dresden Lace ribbon like trim. There is a small area on the base where the lace trim is chipped. (Please see the last picture) On the bottom are 3 footed legs painted with the same delicate gold that swirls throughout the design . There is some wear in the gold tone on the feet. (Please see picture showing makers mark)On the bottom of the box is the Dresden logo Crown in blue with MV (MullerVolkstedt) Irish Dresden, Ireland.The piece could probably use a cleaning but I leave that decision to the new owner.If you have any questions, please ask.
